    The following is a listing of the electronic databases licensed by the Everett Public Library for use by our patrons. In many cases our license also allows us to offer our patrons access from their home computers.

All Data Auto Repair (In Library Only)
    Comprehensive automotive diagnostic and repair resource. Online searches, technical service bulletins, wiring diagrams printable on 8 ½ x 11 paper.

    A full text database of the newspapers, magazines and journals from alternative and independent presses, provides a valuable source of viewpoints and perspectives to complement and challenge mainstream media coverage. (ProQuest) SDL Project

Ancestry Library Edition (In Library Only)
    A genealogical collection with broad coverage of the U.S. and the U.K., including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada and other areas. Comprising 4,000 databases and 1.5 billion names, its content ia a complement to HeritageQuest Online.

Auto Repair Reference Center (Login required - click here)
    ARRC contains information on most manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles, including: Tech Service bulletins, recalls, step-by-step photos, and factory drawings.

Biography Resource Center (Login required - click here)
    Biographical information on more than 1.25 million people of note from all over the world and throughout history.

Business Source (Login required - click here)
    This database provides full text for 1,000+ business publications and regional business coverage from business journals, newspapers and newswires in both metropolitan and rural areas across the U.S. (EBSCO)

Contemporary Authors - Contemporary Literature (Login required - click here)
    Biographical details on over 100,000 modern writers and critical essays and excerpts from books, newspapers, scholarly journals, and interviews on the work of more than 600 authors.

    Beginning or professional genealogists can search over 25,000 family and local histories for ancestors, relatives and American culture in federal Census records from 1790 to 1930.

    A database designed for research by elementary school children, includes magazines, reference books, and picture collections.

Learning Express (Login required - click here)
    Immediate scoring on more than 300 interactive practice tests including ACT, SAT, GED, ASVAB, Firefighter, Police Officer, U.S. Citizenship, Postal Worker.

    Provides a variety of legal forms, including forms specific to Washington State.

Literary Reference Center (Login required - click here)
    A full text database that offers information on thousands of authors and their literary works. It includes plot summaries & synopses, articles/essays of literary criticism, and author biographies. Its sources are reference books, scholarly journals & original content from EBSCO Publishing.

LitFinder (In Library Only)
    A primary literature source that contains: full-text of 125,000+ poems, 5,000 short stories, 2,800 essays, 1,800 speeches, and 1,000 plays. LitFinder also has citations to thousands of additional poems, author biographies, photographs, and a glossary.

Novelist (Login required - click here)
    A resource that helps readers find new books to read based on books they’ve read or subjects they are interested in. Approximately 34,000 fiction titles are included, with over 6,000 book reviews from the magazine Booklist. (Ebsco)

Novelist K-8 (Login required - click here)
    NoveList K-8 contains materials for all K-8 grade levels and includes picture books, children's "chapter" books and young adult titles. It also contains a wealth of materials written especially for teachers and media specialists.

OCLC (In Library Only)
    OCLC connects students, researchers and patrons over 48 million catalog records for books, videos and other materials each attached to a list of the member libraries that own the item.

    This is an excellent source for information on today's hottest social issues, featuring topic overviews, full-text magazine and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, articles from reference books, and images.

    Washington State newspapers search higlighted within the Proquest Discovery database site.

Proquest Discovery - ALL (Login required - click here)
    Indexes 3,600 magazines and journals—2,000 of which are full text, as well as several national and Washington State newspapers. Indexes 1,000 business and management journals, trade/industry publications, 460 of which are full text.

    Provides directory information for over 10 million U.S. businesses, organizations, & governmental agencies, along with white page directory information for individuals for the entire U.S.

    Explore subjects in science, find science experiments, and watch science videos.

Searchasaurus (Login required - click here)
    The Searchasaurus dinosaur will help elementary- to middle-school age users navigate our EBSCO databases, including a general encyclopedia, an animal encyclopedia, hot topics and the EBSCO tutorial.

TumbleBook Library
    (picture books for younger readers) An online collection of TumbleBooks – animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. TumbleBooks are created by adding animation, sound, music and narration to existing picture books in order to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you.

TumbleReadables
    An online collection of read-along titles for elementary, middle school, and high school students which features adjustable online text and complete audio narration. Sentences are highlited as they are being read and the pages turn automatically. The collection features chapter books, early readers, YA/Teen Novels, high interest/low level books for both middle school and high school students, plus classics of American and English literature.
